Did you know that the Boeing 737-800 MCE in American Airlines' fleet lack a seat at 16B, 16E, 17B and 17E? Neither did I till I boarded my ORD-BOS flight an hour ago!
Turns out that American only wants a capacity of 150 people in the plane so they only have to have 3 flight attendants.
Two rental car reviews coming soon!

QFT! My right elbow is squarely where the poor middle passenger's torso would be. This is awesome!

I was talking about this with a friend over at American the other day. Apparently it has a lot to do with the bankruptcy and staffing cutbacks.
Pretty nice when you can grab the aisle or window seats on those rows. Luckily, people think they're seats someone has already grabbed when picking their seats and they avoid them.

It has a lot to do with cumbersome labor agreements and union featherbedding. So if the rules dictate one stewardess per fifty passengers, meaning 152 would require a fourth, so instead the airline caps it at 150 and everybody loses.

How much extra do they charge you to book those seats?

The title got me all excited, then...
This is what my last 737 flight looked like on my way to COTA.
Just me and 2 stewardesses.
